History and Background

Viola’s Flower Garden, established in May 2001 by Robyn, Art, and their dog Shaniqua, with the help of dear family and friends, has a heartwarming origin story. The store is named after Robyn’s grandmother, Viola, who had a deep passion for gardening. Though you won’t find Viola at the store, her granddaughter Robyn is a familiar face, often seen working there.

Starting from a modest 4,000-square-foot location on Fourth Street, Viola’s Flower Garden quickly grew. By 2003, their space had more than doubled as they spilled into the parking lot. With the continued support of family, friends, dedicated employees, and loyal customers, they moved to Route 66 in the winter of 2006. This new location was at least twice the size and offered better visibility from the road.

For a decade on Route 66, Viola’s Flower Garden thrived, introducing events like the Tomato Festival and Pansy Party, and deepening their community involvement. In 2016, they made the boldest move yet, purchasing the property on 89A close to the national forest, formerly Jackson’s Grille restaurant. Through vision and hard work, they transformed this venue into one of Flagstaff’s premier wedding destinations.

Families can also enjoy the pumpkin decorating station, where creativity flows as everyone gets a chance to personalize their own pumpkin. The charm of Viola’s is further enhanced by old-fashioned carnival games that bring a nostalgic touch to the experience.
